I cannot connect to ToucanTask
The most common reason why you cannot connect to ToucanTask is because your phone is temporarily not connected to the Internet. To ensure you have a working Internet connection, go through the following steps:
- Make sure you have a data plan on your carrier’s network or a Wi-Fi connection with Internet access.
- Make sure that the signal strength of the Wi-Fi or data network is good and the phone is connected to the network.
- Open a webpage in your phone browser to see if it loads. If it does, your phone is connected to the Internet.
- Reboot your phone.If you still cannot connectIf you cannot connect to the Internet through your phone’s data network, try one or more Wi-Fi networks. If you can open webpages and run other applications that connect to the Internet on your phone, but ToucanTask will not connect, learn more about connection issues on: iPhone. If you can connect to other applications on your data network, but not ToucanTask, it could be that your mobile provider has configured your wireless access points to block certain chat applications.
Try this if ToucanTask still will not work on data only:
- Contact your mobile provider and ask them about different access point settings to run chat apps.
- They will guide you through a process in which you will manually configure your data network and web settings.
What do I do if my phone is lost or stolen?
In the unfortunate case that your phone becomes lost or stolen, we can help make sure that no one can use your ToucanTask account. You should call your mobile provider as soon as possible to lock your SIM card. It will then not be possible to verify the account on that phone again, as you must be able to receive SMS or phone calls to verify an account. After you have locked the SIM in your stolen phone, you can use a new SIM with the same number to activate ToucanTask on your new phone. This is the fastest way to deactivate your account on the stolen phone. ToucanTask can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time. If you are not ready to activate ToucanTask on a new phone with the same number, we can deactivate your account. The phrase “Lost/Stolen: Please deactivate my account” in the email body and include your phone number in the full international format as described . Please note that we are not able to help you locate your phone. Remote ToucanTask deactivation from another device is not possible. Important: Even with the SIM card locked and phone service disabled, ToucanTask can be used on Wi-Fi if you do not contact us with an account deactivation request.
